Esse talvez seja um dos melhores albuns de Elton John! Hoje vamos comentar a música "Someone saved my life tonight" - não é certamente uma música muito conhecida, mas é muito importante. Elton estava para se casar (com uma mulher!!). Esse episódio deu-se em 1969, e Elton não era nem de longe famoso ou rico. (Essa música foi gravada apenas em 1975) Segundo consta, apartir desse momento (o rompimento do noivado) iniciou-se a carreira artística de Elton John, assim como o processo de assumir-se gay. Há uma frase que precisa de algum esclarecimento, para aqueles que não conhecem certos termos próprios da Inglaterra:

"Clinging to your stocks and bonds Paying your H.P. demands forever" - HP= "Hire Purchase" - mais ou menos o equivalente a umfinanciamento mediante penhor. Eu não sei exatamente o que Taupin queria dizer com isso, mas certamente indica que o casamento lhe custaria caro demais.
